The Philippine school system was rebuilt by the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 (Republic Act 10533), which made kindergarten compulsory and added two years of Senior High School to create the K to 12 program. The Department of Education is now rolling out the MATATAG curriculum, which reduces the number of learning areas in the early grades so that teachers can concentrate on literacy and numeracy.
That focus reflects a wider concern. In the OECD's PISA 2022 assessment, Filipino 15-year-olds scored well below the OECD average in mathematics, reading and science. Parents have long responded by paying for extra help: tutorial centers near schools and in malls, and home tutors for after-school assignments, are a familiar part of family budgets in Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao.

Not yet. The Philippines is a market where we are inviting franchise partners and master franchise partners, and no centers have been announced. Early partners would choose territories and plan their launch directly with head office leadership. Share the city or province you have in mind through available locations.
Kumon is built on a worksheet-based self-learning method, with children completing worksheets on their own and advancing level by level. Success Tutoring is a membership-based K to 12 program in which tutors teach English and Math in modern, retail-style centers. A mall unit in Bonifacio Global City or Makati costs far more than a commercial space in Iloilo or Cagayan de Oro, so there is no single answer. We do not list figures here; franchise costs are on the investment schedule, and our leasing support helps you assess sites.
Expect to register the business with the SEC or DTI, obtain a barangay clearance and a mayor's permit from the local government unit, and register with the BIR.
