Denton sits at the top of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro, where I-35E and I-35W meet, about 40 miles north of both downtowns. It is a college city first, home to the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University, but it is also a fast-growing family city at the center of one of the fastest-growing counties in the country. For a tutoring franchise in Denton, that combination is useful: a deep pool of potential tutors, and new neighborhoods full of school-age children. Success Tutoring launched in the United States in Dallas-Fort Worth, and Denton is on the northern edge of that launch market.
The city has about 150,000 residents, according to the US Census Bureau, and recent Census Bureau estimates put Denton County as a whole at around a million people.
Denton ISD and the districts around it
Denton ISD is the main district, and it is much bigger than the city. Its boundaries reach east and south to take in parts of Corinth, Little Elm and Hickory Creek, plus the master-planned communities of Savannah, Providence Village and Union Park. Its high schools include Denton, Ryan, Guyer and Braswell, and the district's Advanced Technology Complex offers career and technical programs for students from across the district.
Guyer and Braswell sit in the newer southern and eastern parts of the district, where enrollment has grown fastest. Denton ISD has opened new campuses to keep up and regularly redraws attendance zones.
Around the edges, families also attend Argyle ISD, Sanger ISD, Lake Dallas ISD, Ponder ISD and Krum ISD, and some neighborhoods south-west of the city fall within Northwest ISD. All follow the Texas Education Agency's TEKS standards and STAAR testing.
Who looks for tutoring in Denton
- University families. UNT and TWU employ thousands of faculty and staff, and many have high expectations for their own children's reading and math.
- New-build families. Communities such as Savannah, Union Park and the developments along US-380 attract young families moving up from Dallas, Plano and out of state. Children change schools as new campuses open, and parents want consistency.
- Advanced pathways. Denton ISD offers gifted and talented services and accelerated math, and families want their children ready for Algebra I in middle school and AP courses in high school.
- Long commutes. Many Denton County parents commute down I-35E or the Dallas North Tollway corridor, and need a structured after-school routine.
Denton Square and the growth around it
The current Success Tutoring territory on the map is Denton Square, centered on the historic downtown around the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square. It covers the established neighborhoods near UNT and TWU and the family areas spreading out along University Drive and Teasley Lane.
Denton's main retail areas sit along I-35. Rayzor Ranch, on the north side at I-35 and University Drive, is one of the city's largest shopping developments. The Golden Triangle Mall area on Loop 288 and the centers along Teasley Lane, Hickory Creek Road and FM 2181 serve the southern neighborhoods. Further out, US-380 is turning into a continuous growth corridor east towards Cross Roads, Aubrey and Little Elm.
Robson Ranch, a large active-adult community, is another sign of how many people are moving to Denton, though families with children are more concentrated in the south and east of the district.

What a Denton partner gets
Denton partners recruit in a city with two universities, including UNT's large education and STEM programs, which gives them a sizable pool of students to approach. Tutors are trained through Success Tutoring's online platform and work from its learning resources and structured program.
Head office support can also cover site selection, lease negotiation, fit-out and launch marketing for a center near the Square. The franchise agreement and FDD describe what is included. You do not need to be a teacher: you run the business and lead the team, with ongoing support from head office.
Frequently asked questions

Which school district matters most in Denton?
