Colorado is one of the next markets Success Tutoring wants to open after launching in the United States in Texas. The brand, founded in Sydney in 2017, runs membership-based K–12 English and math centers, and it is now seeking franchise partners to take that model to the Front Range. If you are researching a tutoring franchise in Colorado, you would be among the first Success Tutoring partners in the state, and territories are drawn with you around the communities you know.
Colorado has nearly six million residents, according to the US Census Bureau, and most of them live in a narrow band along the I-25 corridor from Fort Collins to Pueblo. That corridor is where population growth, new schools and young families are concentrated.
How Colorado runs its schools
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) oversees K–12 education, and what students learn is set by the Colorado Academic Standards. Colorado is a strong local-control state: 178 school districts set much of their own curriculum and policy, so a family moving from Jeffco to Douglas County can notice real differences.
State testing follows a clear sequence:
- CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) in English language arts and math from grade 3 to grade 8, with science and social studies in selected grades.
- PSAT 9 and PSAT 10 in the early high school years.
- The SAT in grade 11, taken by every junior in Colorado as the state's high school assessment.
Results feed into school and district performance frameworks that are published every year. Parents read them closely, particularly when choosing between neighborhood schools, charters and the state's open enrollment options.
Why Colorado families use tutoring
Colorado parents tend to be highly educated, and the state has one of the most open school choice systems in the country. That combination creates a few clear sources of demand:
- Choice and competition. Open enrollment lets families apply to schools outside their neighborhood, and popular charter schools and option programs often have waitlists. Parents want their children ready to thrive wherever they land.
- Gifted and advanced pathways. Districts identify gifted students and run advanced math and highly gifted programs. Families who want their children in those tracks invest in early math and reading.
- The SAT. Because every junior sits the SAT, families start thinking about college readiness in middle school.
- Recovering ground in math. CMAS results have shown many students below grade level in math, and parents of younger children want to avoid gaps that compound later.
Where a Colorado partner could build
Success Tutoring has not yet drawn territories in Colorado. The larger communities where it would look for partners include:
- Denver and its southern suburbs: Highlands Ranch, Centennial, Littleton, Parker and Castle Rock, served by Douglas County and Cherry Creek schools.
- Aurora, one of the state's largest and most diverse cities, with fast-growing master-planned areas on its eastern edge.
- The northern suburbs: Thornton, Westminster, Broomfield, Arvada and Erie, where new housing keeps spreading along E-470 and the US 36 corridor.
- The Northern Front Range: Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, Windsor and Longmont, where university towns meet new family subdivisions.
- Colorado Springs, the state's second-largest city, home to Academy District 20 and a large military community connected to Fort Carson, Peterson Space Force Base and the US Air Force Academy.
Military families in Colorado Springs move often and value a consistent learning program that keeps children on track between schools. That makes a membership model a natural fit.

What running a Success Tutoring center involves
Partners run a retail-style learning center where students attend weekly sessions as members. Support areas, some of them packaged in the Success Kit, can include:
- Site selection, leasing and fit-out support.
- Tutor recruitment and training through an online franchise training platform.
- Learning resources and a structured program.
- Launch and marketing support for opening a new center.
- Ongoing marketing help and support from head office.
The franchise agreement and Franchise Disclosure Document set out the actual scope of this support.
No teaching background is required. Many Success Tutoring partners come from corporate, engineering, finance and small-business careers. Colorado's universities, including CU Boulder, Colorado State, the University of Denver and UCCS, are places a partner might recruit tutors.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a Success Tutoring center in Colorado yet?
Not yet. Success Tutoring launched in the US in Texas and is expanding from there. Partners who join in Colorado would be among the first in the state.
How are Colorado territories decided?
Territories are drawn with each partner, using census data on households, school-age children and schools, so that each one covers a workable catchment. The map on this page shows them once they are created.
Does Colorado require franchise registration?
No. Colorado is not a franchise registration state. Franchise sales are governed by the FTC Franchise Rule, which requires the Franchise Disclosure Document at least 14 days before you sign or pay. Seek independent legal advice before signing.
Would a center work outside the Denver metro?
Yes, where the numbers support it. Fort Collins, Greeley and Colorado Springs all have large and growing school populations, and smaller markets can have fewer established tutoring options.
